RAMALLAH, Nov. 18 (Xinhua) -- A senior official of the Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) said on Sunday that a U.S. draft resolution that condemns Hamas at the UN General Assembly "turns the facts upside down."
In a press statement, Saeb Erekat, secretary general of the PLO executive committee, called on the international community to backlash "the actions of U.S. President Donald Trump's administration."
The press statement said the U.S. draft resolution calls on the UN General Assembly "to condemn Hamas for its endless incitement of violence against Israel and for firing rockets into Israel,"
"Israel is the one who bears full responsibility as a result of the continuation of its occupation and its colonial settlement as well as imposing fact on the ground, imposing a siege, field execution arrests and ethnic cleansing," said Erekat.
Meanwhile, he also called on Hamas, ruler of the Gaza Strip, to immediately respond to the Egyptian efforts to end the internal division and achieve unity and reconciliation.
