FRANKFURT, July 24 (Xinhua) -- German stocks rose on Tuesday, with the benchmark DAX index up 140.82 points, or 1.12 percent, to close at 12,689.39 points.
Commerzbank won the most among the blue chips, with its shares up 3.74 percent. Automotive manufacturer Volkswagen and multinational building materials company HeidelbergCement rose by 3.46 percent and 3.29 percent respectively.
Energy group E.ON lost the most among the blue chips, by falling 1.34 percent. Energy group RWE went down by 1.03 percent. Telecommunications company Deutsche Telekom down by 0.80 percent.
Automotive manufacturer Daimler was the most-traded share with a turnover of 274.08 million euros (320.83 million U.S. dollars). Enditem
