WASHINGTON, March 9 (Xinhua) -- 2018/19 FIS snowboard halfpipe World Cup season wrapped up at Mammoth Mountain resort on Saturday. Chinese snowboarder Cai Xuetong claimed the title, finishing top at the World Cup standings in women's competition.
The victory gave Cai a total score of 3900 points, more than enough to ensure the 25-year-old of her fifth halfpipe crystal globe. Cai is the only person who has achieved this accomplishment in history.
Cai scored the highest points of 89.25 in women's final, Sena Tomita of Japan and veteran Rohrer of Switzerland ranked second and third respectively.
The men's competition saw Japanese Yuto Totsuka clinch gold with the score of 95.75, the silver and bronze went to Swiss Patrick Burgener and Canadian Derek Livingston respectively. Yuto Totsuka claimed the season's top World Cup honor with 3760 points.
