RABAT, Oct. 15 (Xinhua) -- Gabon edged host Morocco 3-2 in a soccer friendly on Tuesday night in Tangier northern Morocco.
Gabon open the scoring through striker Salem Boupendza in the 21st minute before Nourdin Amrabat equalized in the 33rd minute.
In the second half, Denis Athanase Bouanga scored the second goal of the Black Panthers, before Nourdin managed to tie the scores in the 69th minute on a penalty obtained by Adel Taarabt.
Ten minutes from the end, Issam Chebake scored the winner.
On Friday, Morocco were held to a 1-1 draw by Libya in a soccer friendly in the city of Oujda.
The two games are part of the preparation for the 2021 African Cup of Nations (CAN) qualifiers to be held in Cameroon.
Morocco had beaten Niger 1-0 and tied Burkina Faso 1-1 in the warmups in September.
For the Moroccan coach French Bosnian Vahid Halilhodzic, who took over the team in August, there is still a lot to do to improve the team.
The team is in the process of major reconstruction, Halilhodzic told a press briefing on Monday.
