BEIJING, Aug. 29 (Xinhua) -- The Chinese-produced opera film "Simon Boccanegra" will be shown at the National Center for the Performing Arts (NCPA) on Sept. 6 in Beijing.
"Simon Boccanegra," an opera with a prologue and three acts, was written by the Italian composer Giuseppe Verdi to an Italian libretto by Francesco Maria Piave.
The story, which takes place in the 14th century in Genoa, Italy, tells Simon Boccanegra and his daughter Maria Boccanegra's tortuous process of reunion.
Starring the Spanish artist Placido Domingo, the production was performed by China NCPA Orchestra & Chorus.
